Modern logistics centre of Biedronka opened in Sokołów Małopolski

On 1 July 2026, the Distribution and Logistics Centre of Jeronimo Martins Polska JSC in Sokołów Małopolski was officially opened. The event was attended by representatives of ARP JSC, Branch Office in Mielec managing the EURO-PARK MIELEC Special Economic Zone: Deputy Director of the ARP JSC Branch Office in Mielec, Krzysztof Ślęzak, Expert and Coordinator in the Communication and Promotion Team, Mariusz Mądry, and Expert and Coordinator in the Investor Support Team, Piotr Zawada.

Investment within the Poland Investment Zone (Polska Strefa Inwestycji)

The new centre is another project implemented with support granted under the Poland Investment Zone (Polska Strefa Inwestycji). In 2025 Jeronimo Martins Polska JSC obtained a decision on support for the construction of a modern, automated distribution and logistics centre together with technical infrastructure.

The scope of the investment covered the construction of a warehouse hall and an office building, development of road infrastructure, purchase of specialist equipment and implementation of a robotised handling system for refrigerated containers. As part of the project, a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of almost 1 MW was also built.

Modern logistics infrastructure

The facility was built on an area of over 20 hectares, in the immediate vicinity of the S19 expressway. The centre offers warehouse space exceeding 27,000 m² and nearly 20,000 pallet positions.

The new infrastructure enables more efficient organisation of the supply chain and effective management of goods flows. The centre will serve around 300 Biedronka stores in south-eastern Poland, which will translate into shorter transport routes and improved operational efficiency.

Impact on regional development

The investment represents a significant strengthening of the economic potential of the Podkarpackie region. The project will contribute to the creation of between 300 and 500 jobs and will increase the investment attractiveness of the region.

The facility uses solutions that support the energy transition and sustainable development, including energy-efficient LED lighting, rainwater retention systems, refrigeration based on CO₂ and a photovoltaic installation.

Cooperation for economic development

The implementation of the investment is an example of cooperation between the investor, local authorities and institutions supporting the development of entrepreneurship. The project, carried out with the support of the EURO-PARK MIELEC Special Economic Zone, fits into activities aimed at strengthening the national supply chain, developing modern logistics and building the long-term resilience of the economy.
